An industrial grotesk in five widths and nine weights, built on the Neue Moderne Grotesk lineage and made for everyday work from packaging to wayfinding.
About
Pennypacker synthesises Aurora-Grotesk, Favorit-Grotesk and their siblings into one coherent family rather than reviving any single source. Its 45 roman styles run from Compressed to Wide and Hairline to Black, and a single variable font with weight and width axes reaches combinations the metal versions never had. Stylistic alternates for a, f, g and r give it some extra character for identity work.
Classification
Pennypacker is a contemporary take on the Neue Moderne Grotesk lineage of early 20th-century industrial grotesks, drawing on Aurora-Grotesk and Favorit-Grotesk, which places it with the early grotesques rather than the neo-grotesques.
