A condensed all-caps slab serif in two weights, originally drawn for The New York Times Magazine's 'Great Performers' issue in 2016 and substantially revised for its 2.0 release in 2021.
About
First commissioned for the December 2016 'Great Performers' special issue of The New York Times Magazine, Blakey Slab was reworked extensively with assistance from Diana Ovezea before its 2021 public release. The family comprises just two weights, Regular and Bold, both all-caps and condensed, making it a focused tool for editorial display work. Glyph coverage includes extended Latin with accented characters, standard figures, fractions and a broad punctuation set.
Classification
An all-caps condensed slab serif, combining bracketed slab serifs with tight proportions. Designed for high-impact editorial display use, with two weights only.
