About
Commissioned via Sven Völker Studio, the family was chosen over a conventional grotesque in favour of an expressive gothic that reflects Suzuki's sporty and adventurous brand values. The system covers 120+ languages across four script groups, providing the client with media-independent licensing clarity and long-term scalability. Ralph du Carrois led the design, with mastering and font production handled by Alphabet Type.
Classification
Described as an 'ausdrucksstarke Gothic' (expressive gothic) rather than a smooth grotesque, placing it firmly in the gothic/blackletter-influenced sans-serif tradition suited to the brand's sporty, adventurous character.
