Wedding Gothic
ATF Collection · Mark Van Bronkhorst, Luis Batlle, Igino Marini, & Ben Kiel

A digital expansion of an ATF engravers gothic original, growing a single metal-type novelty weight into eighteen styles across two widths and nine weights.
About
Rooted in the tradition of turn-of-the-century social gothics such as Engravers Gothic and Copperplate, Wedding Gothic distinguishes itself through details like a swaying R and Q and characterful figures. The original metal type offered only a single wide weight; this revival extends the family from Thin through Black in both a standard and wide width, giving lighter weights an airy elegance and heavier cuts a quality closer to wooden poster type. No italics are included, keeping the focus on the all-caps display character of the source material.
Classification
An all-caps engravers gothic sans serif in the tradition of Copperplate and Engravers Gothic, characterised by broad unadorned capitals with subtle calligraphic touches. The display category is appropriate given its origins as a single novelty weight for special occasion printing, now expanded into a versatile family.
