The 1 inch Ideal No.1 machine type of the 1920s to 1940s, in a refined Regular, a Mono and a faithful Source.
About
Ideal was the third American stencil machine maker and its No.1 cut 1 inch letters from 1913. This draws on an early machine, before the punches for N, M, S and & were changed. A, B, G, M, Q, N, S, & and the figures 2, 3 and 5 carry the signature shapes.
Classification
Drawn from 1 inch stencils cut by an early Ideal No.1 machine. Plain gothic letterforms with the machine's own bridges left in.
