The small-text cut of ARS Roman, built for screens and captions, in six weights with swash italics.
About
ARS Roman Petit takes Descendiaan's legibility tricks and pushes them into much smaller sizes: wider letters, shorter ascenders and descenders, low contrast and solid oval terminals. The quirks are deliberate, from an fi ligature that joins below the dot to a kinked d stem in the Bold and Extra Bold. Twelve styles, drawn between 2022 and 2025 as the newest cut of the ARS Roman family.
Classification
The small-size cut of the ARS Roman family: wider proportions, shorter extenders and much lower contrast than Descendiaan, verging on slab territory, with oval rather than ball terminals to hold up on screen.
