Wasp
6TM Magazine · Peter Bushuev · 2023

A wide, high-contrast display sans from NaumType that borrows Didone stroke contrast and calligraphic swooshes for bold poster and editorial work.
About
Wasp is a wide display typeface built around non-conventional letter structures, sharp Didone-style contrast and expressive swoosh details that give it an ornamental edge. Designed by Peter Bushuev of NaumType, it sits in the territory between legible and decorative – suited to posters, album covers, packaging and oversized headlines where visual impact is the priority. The family covers 377 glyphs across a Latin European character set in two weights, Regular and Extra, with no italic or condensed companions.
Classification
Wide display typeface with Didone-derived stroke contrast and calligraphic swooshes, officially described by the foundry as a calligraphic humanist sans. The high-contrast strokes and ornamental flourishes place it firmly in display territory despite its sans-serif skeleton. Two weights only: Regular and Extra.
