Ambient TM
6TM Magazine · Type Mania · 2025

A single-weight geometric display face that auto-cycles between two stylistic sets as you type, swapping circular and square letterform variants to create the impression of movement.
About
Ambient TM is built on a hard-edged geometric grid, with all the rigidity that implies – but its gimmick is OpenType automatic alternation between two stylistic sets that shuffle circles and squares into new configurations with each keystroke. The effect is more novelty than nuance: fine for a headline or short-burst display use, but the single weight and experimental premise limit it to decorative work. It covers 254 glyphs across Basic Latin, Western European, Central European and Pan African Latin ranges.
Classification
Geometric sans-serif designed for display use. Its defining feature is OpenType automatic alternation between two stylistic sets that cycle circular and square letterform variants as you type, creating apparent motion within a hard-edged grid structure. Single weight only, no text-setting application.
