A single-style unicase display typeface drawn from early American comics, with massively thick strokes, hair-thin crossbars and overinflated curves that balloon around diminutive counters.
About
Designed by İbrahim Kaçtıoğlu, Seamus takes its visual cue from the exaggerated lettering of the earliest American comic strips, pushing stroke weight to an extreme while keeping crossbars razor-thin and counters almost closed. The unicase construction gives every letter an equally caricatural presence, yet the forms interlock with enough consistency to function as a coherent display typeface. Despite its single weight, the character set is thorough, with OpenType features including fractions, ordinals, contextual alternates and directional arrows.
Classification
A single-weight unicase display typeface with extremely heavy strokes, tiny counters and exaggerated balloon forms drawn from early American comic book lettering. Its caricatural character and extreme weight place it firmly in the display category.
