A mid-century display face modelled on the hand-lettered typography of Blue Note jazz album covers, supplied in OpenType format with 291 glyphs including ligatures and stylistic alternates.
About
Originally a handset font named after Cannonball Adderley, YWFT Coltrane has been reissued in OpenType format with over 290 glyphs. The design captures the loose, expressive character of 1950s and 60s jazz record cover lettering, making it suited to editorial headlines, retro branding and cultural publishing. A bonus EPS handset design with additional letters is included, originally sold separately as YouWorkForThem Adderley.
Classification
A display face drawing on mid-century jazz album lettering, particularly the hand-lettered aesthetic of Blue Note covers. Its bouncy, hand-drawn character places it firmly in the display category with a retro subcategory.
