MegaMegaTypeType
A thick, chunky pixel-style display font originally created as an extension to YWFT Caliper, suited to retro gaming and digital nostalgia projects.
About
Built on a pixel grid with heavily weighted letterforms, YWFT Blackgold evokes the lo-fi digital typography of early video games and home computing. Its bold construction makes it readable at headline sizes while retaining the character of 8-bit and 16-bit era screen fonts. Designed by YouWorkForThem and added to their catalogue in 2004, it remains a go-to option for retro-themed digital work.
Classification
A chunky pixel-style bitmap display font, designed with thick, blocky letterforms inspired by retro digital aesthetics. Its pixel-grid construction and heavy weight place it firmly in the bitmap/display category.
