Setra Variable packages the complete weight spectrum of the Setra grotesque into a single variable font file, enabling continuous interpolation along the weight axis. It shares all the characteristics of the static family: low stroke contrast, a generous x-height, and broad Latin-script language support. The variable format is better suited to web and app use where minimising file count and enabling responsive weight behaviour both matter.
Classification
Same classification as the base Setra – low-contrast neutral grotesque with a large x-height – but sold as a single variable font file. The variable axis spans the full weight range of the static family, making this effectively the same typeface in a different purchase format.
