Eleni Pro specimen from Wannatype

A late humanistic Antiqua designed by Ekke Wolf for demanding body text work, available in four weights across Text and Display optical sizes with full variable font support and coverage of Latin, Cyrillic, Greek and IPA.

About

Ekke Wolf conceived Eleni from his experience as a typesetter working with substantial book projects, prioritising restraint and legibility over decorative detail. The design derives from the handwritten glyphs of a companion face, Ermis, with proportions reworked for compactness and readability at text sizes. Sixteen static fonts cover four weights with italics in both Text and Display optical sizes, supplemented by variable fonts with weight and optical size axes; character sets extend to extended Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Pan-African scripts and the International Phonetic Alphabet across more than 90 languages.

Classification

Described by the designer as a late humanistic Antiqua, Eleni exhibits moderate stroke contrast and compact proportions derived from handwritten forms, placing it firmly in the humanist serif tradition suited to extended text setting.
