Convey specimen from Wannatype

A hybrid typeface by Gabriele Lenz that strips classical antiqua forms to their functional minimum, balancing serif readability with a contemporary, open character.

About

Developed in collaboration with media theorists, Convey was refined through reading tests and media-psychological research to optimise legibility without sacrificing typographic warmth. Its reduced antiqua elements guide the eye along the line while giving the overall texture an open, modern quality. The family covers six styles across three weights, all with italics, and supports an extensive range of Latin-script languages.

Classification

Convey merges classical serif (antiqua) structure with sans-serif openness, reducing antiqua formal elements to a minimum while retaining features that aid reading. This positions it as a hybrid or semi-serif rather than a pure category, closest to a contemporary humanist serif.
