VZWO VOL
VZWO Type · Viktor zu Megen

A multiplexed variable display family with nine volume steps, upright, slanted and backslanted styles, designed to be layered on top of one another for stacked typographic effects.
About
VOL operates on two variable axes – volume and slant – spanning hair-thin strokes at 100 through to solid punched letterforms at 900, with slant ranging from −12° backslanted to 12° forward. Its multiplexed design means all 27 static styles share identical advance widths, so different variations can be overlaid without text reflow. Aimed at branding, packaging and poster work where visual energy is the priority.
Classification
A display-oriented variable family built around a volume axis rather than conventional weight, with slant and backslant variants. Its multiplexed construction and expressive range place it firmly in the display category.
