Compagnon draws its five styles from the online Typewriter Database, with each weight anchored to significant references from a different period in the history of typewriter faces. Juliette Duhé, Léa Pradine, Valentin Papon, Chloé Lozano and Sébastien Riollier built it together as part of EESAB-Rennes' graphic design masters programme, tracing the evolution of typewriter characters across the set.
