Avara restricts every node to a rough square grid, a constraint that pushes its transitional serif structure into radical, angular territory. Raphaël Bastide led the project with contributions from Wei Huang, Lucas Le Bihan, Walid Bouchouchi and Jérémy Landes, and the grid discipline was chosen partly to make the collaboration itself easier to manage across several hands.
