A transitional serif family of six weights with matching italics, tracing a direct lineage from Plantin through Times New Roman and released as a variable font with extensive OpenType feature support.
About
The design revisits the typographic tradition established by Stanley Morison when he drew Times New Roman from Plantin, retaining familiar letterforms while updating them for variable font technology. Numerals are drawn notably smaller than capitals to improve legibility in mixed letter-numeral settings, and default spacing is tighter than most comparable faces. Italic cuts include stylistic alternates for Q, g, k and z, activatable individually or collectively via OpenType features, and more than 400 languages are supported.
Classification
Draws directly on the Times New Roman lineage via Plantin (1913) and Stanley Morison's 1930s revision, placing it firmly in the transitional serif tradition. Familiar letterforms with moderate contrast and bracketed serifs, adapted for contemporary variable font technology.
