Madden
Typogama · Michael Parson · 2018

A single-weight bold display face drawn from the aesthetic of hand-painted protest signs, using OpenType alternates to replicate the irregularity of manual lettering.
About
Madden's wide-brush strokes and deliberately uneven letterforms are modelled on handmade protest signage. OpenType contextual alternates randomly substitute glyphs within a line of text, producing the kind of erratic variation that a hand-lettered approach would naturally generate. It covers a broad Latin character set across ISO Latin 1–4 ranges.
Classification
A single-weight bold display typeface drawn from the aesthetic of hand-painted protest signs, with deliberately irregular, erratic letterforms simulated via OpenType contextual alternates. Its rugged, wide-brush stroke character places it firmly in the display category.
