Calvin specimen from Typogama

A humanist sans-serif by Michael Parson spanning eleven weights from Hairline to Black, available as individual static OpenType files or as a single variable font.

About

Released in October 2010, Calvin covers an unusually broad weight range for a humanist sans, with Semi Light sitting between Light and Regular to give finer tonal control. Italics accompany every weight, and the family is backed by an expanded Latin character set covering ISO Latin-1 through Latin-4. A variable font consolidates all styles into a single file for more flexible deployment.

Classification

Described explicitly as humanist sans-serif, with open letterforms and a weight range from Hairline to Black suggesting the warm, calligraphically influenced stroke construction typical of the humanist sans tradition.
