Bigboy specimen from Typogama

A narrow slab serif in three weights with italics, extended by five progressively eroded variants that simulate a worn, aged appearance.

About

Designed by Michael Parson and released in January 2009, Bigboy combines a condensed slab structure with a systematic degradation system: five styles named Forty, Sixty, Seventy and Eighty introduce increasing levels of erosion to produce a worn, distressed effect. A companion Bigsigns subfamily adds signage-oriented characters. The family is available in OTF, WOFF2 and WOFF formats with ISO Latin-1 language coverage.

Classification

A narrow slab serif with consistent stroke weights and bracketed serifs across its standard weights. The erosion variants place it firmly in display territory, but the base design is a condensed slab.
