Cormac Neue
Typedepot · Alexander Nedelev · 2021

A humanist sans with slightly flared strokes and a large x-height, combining calligraphic origins with minimal stress across seven weights and matching italics.
About
Cormac Neue is the updated 2.0 release of Typedepot's humanist typeface, retaining its predecessor's flared strokes and large x-height while adding Cyrillic support and true italics. Seven weights run from Extra Thin to Bold, with 696 glyphs per roman style and fractions, ligatures, alternates and special characters included. The chiselled quality evokes glyphic serifs and engraved inscriptions without departing from contemporary, open proportions.
Classification
A humanist sans with slightly flared strokes and minimal stress, drawing on calligraphic origins and glyphic serif traditions. The chiselled appearance and large x-height place it firmly within the humanist sans category, though its flared terminals give it a quasi-lapidary quality.
