A narrow, high-contrast display antiqua from TypeType, distinguished by diamond-shaped bowls and large expressive serifs suited to poster and billboard work.
About
Inspired by the historical rhomboid form of the letter O, TT Espina pairs extreme stroke contrast with a closed aperture and narrow proportions to produce an attention-grabbing headline face. The family spans six upright weights plus a variable font, and version 2.000 extended the glyph set to 1,113 characters with support for over 230 languages including Cyrillic-based scripts. Thirty-eight OpenType features include stylistic alternates for Cyrillic letterforms and flat uppercase diacritics suited to tight poster layouts.
Classification
A high-contrast display serif with narrow proportions, large expressive serifs and diamond-shaped bowls derived from the historical rhomboid form of the letter O. Its closed aperture and extreme contrast place it firmly in the display antiqua tradition rather than general text use.
