displayhand-drawn displaycondensed
Stubby specimen from Tipos Pereira

A hand-drawn display typeface in eleven styles, ranging from a narrowed thin to a sloppy ultrabold, inspired by the visual culture of Brazilian street bars.

About

Stubby draws on the vernacular spirit of Brazilian boteco culture, with tight spacing and a wide, rude character suited to packaging, posters, headlines and titles. Eleven styles span a considerable range of weight and width, making it adaptable despite its strongly informal personality. Stubby Rough extends the family with a distressed variant for vintage or hand-lettered aesthetics.

Classification

A hand-drawn display typeface with informal, vernacular character. Wide, bold letterforms with tight spacing place it firmly in the display category, with no structural relationship to conventional type classifications.
