An experimental type system built around interchangeable 'persona' fonts that share identical set-widths, allowing emphasis and mood to shift throughout a text without affecting line-breaks.
About
Rather than relying on bold or italic for emphasis, Daam introduces mood-based variants called personas, each conveying a distinct emotional register whilst maintaining the same character widths across the family. This means a compositor can swap between Brutaal, Cristaal and Domination without altering the layout. The foundry intends to extend the system over time to cover a broader spectrum of emotional registers.
Classification
Described as a 'typeface entity' with multiple mood-based personas sharing compatible visual character and identical set-widths; the experimental, concept-driven approach places it in the display/experimental serif territory rather than any conventional subcategory.
