About
Social began as two custom fonts built to sit alongside Living Social's logo, and was expanded into a full retail family once the client's one-year exclusive period ended. Montalbano built the roman on upright italic forms, which made drawing the italic straightforward. Eight weights from Thin to Heavy include a two-story a with a single-story alternate, small caps and multiple figure styles, and it marked his first retail release with Vietnamese support.
Classification
Originated as two custom fonts built to harmonise with Living Social's logo, later expanded into a complete retail family once the client's exclusivity period ended. Recategorised here as sans-serif rather than the original brief's Display label, since the designer explicitly calls it the best rounded sans available and it is built to work in text as well as display.
