Berrymond Display specimen from Terminal Design

A large-format display face grown from a 1968 book-title commission for John Berryman's Dream Songs, with an unusually wide Greek and Cyrillic range for a display face.

About

Farrar Straus Giroux commissioned Terminal Design to letter John Berryman's book titles, based on the 1968 Dream Songs jacket design. Montalbano later expanded that alphabet into a full display typeface, admitting he got carried away with it. It covers extended Latin plus monotonic and polytonic Greek and Cyrillic, but is built for large sizes only.

Classification

Developed from a 1968 book-title commission and later expanded into a full display face. The foundry is explicit that it is not intended for text setting; only a single weight is offered.
