MishMish specimen from Tarek Atrissi Design

A bilingual Arabic and Latin display typeface drawing from the Ottoman-rooted ruq'ah calligraphic style, offered in a compact Regular and a high-contrast Poster cut.

About

MishMish takes the ruq'ah script, the most prevalent style in hand-painted Arabic street signage, and translates it into a typographic system with a Latin companion. The Regular style favours straight stroke endings and compact proportions suited to smaller sizes, while the Poster cut introduces refined curves and high contrast for large-scale use. The result is a bilingual typeface intended for branding, exhibition design and publication work.

Classification

Rooted in the ruq'ah Arabic calligraphic tradition, MishMish is a bilingual Arabic-Latin display typeface. Its simplified yet expressive letterforms, high contrast Poster style and street-lettering heritage place it firmly in the display category rather than a neutral text face.
