MegaMegaTypeType
A geometric sans-serif blending the pure geometry of Futura with select traits from Gill Sans, offered in six weights from Light to Ultra.
About
Athlete sits within Talbot Type's ongoing exploration of geometric sans-serifs, sharing DNA with Kaleko, Kamerik and Korto while pursuing a cleaner, more balanced approach. Where Futura's character widths are notably uneven and its S carries angled terminals, Athlete corrects both in favour of optical consistency. The capital G nods to Gill Sans, but the overall character is closer to Renner's rational geometry than Johnston's humanist tradition.
Classification
A geometric sans-serif drawing primarily from Futura's pure geometry while incorporating select humanist traits from Gill Sans, notably the capital G. Unlike Futura, Athlete opts for more balanced character widths and squared-off terminals on the S.
