A fixed-width, monolinear sans in six weights, conceived for Careof Milan and named after the CRT monitor brand that defined the material conditions of early video art institutions.
About
The spacing logic derives from the grid of stacked 28-inch CRT monitors, producing dense, solid textures with unexpected optical rhythms across the glyph set. Each weight carries a monolinear structure with sharp contours and variable squareness, while an OpenType stylistic set switches the entire skeleton to a segmented, screen-readout ductus. An overdesigned diacritics and punctuation system, 796 glyphs and variable font support round out a family that treats monospace as a conceptual constraint rather than a compromise.
Classification
A fixed-width, monolinear sans with variable utilitarian squareness and a segmented OpenType alternate that shifts the skeleton toward a display-screen ductus. The monospaced structure is the defining classification criterion.
