About
Referenz Grotesk emerged from extensive research into the Academy's archive, where the majority of Kurt Weidemann's estate is held alongside works by F.H. Ernst Schneidler and Walter Brudi. Some of Schneidler's freshly cast fonts, tested at the Academy's own typesetting workshop, fed directly into the research.
