Bellissima Script specimen from Sudtipos

A refined copperplate script drawn from Ramón Stirling's 1844 Spanish calligraphy manual.

About

Bellissima Script began from a nineteenth-century lettering book, Bellezas de la Caligrafía, that also fed into Poem Script's capitals. Alejandro Paul pulled back from the original's exuberant ornamentation to work within a simplified copperplate structure, and the result won a Certificate of Excellence at the Communication Arts Typography competition.

Classification

A copperplate script modelled on a nineteenth-century Spanish calligraphy manual, distinguishing it from the brush-based scripts elsewhere in the catalogue.
