ST Sturm specimen from Studio Type

An art deco display face derived from glazed mosaic tile lettering on the Victor Sturm building in Antwerp, with each capital drawn in four structural variants for layered typographic use.

About

Each capital is provided in four forms: the original design, an outline version, the isolated inner shape, and the inner shape aligned to baseline and cap height. This layered approach makes the family well suited to logo design, poster work and packaging. The typeface is part of 'Typo Belgiëque', a research project reviving Belgium's historical lettering traditions from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Classification

A geometric art deco display typeface drawn from architectural ceramic tile lettering, with solid capitals featuring a distinctive light border inset – placing it firmly in the display category with an ornamental geometric character.
