Bloxic
Studio Buchanan · Jonny Gibson · 2020

A single-weight display sans with all counters removed, giving each letterform a solid, filled-in mass that reads as chunky and deliberately handmade.
About
Born from a 2008 t-shirt design and revisited a decade later with greater type design knowledge, Bloxic strips out the interior counter spaces from otherwise humanist sans letterforms. The result sits apart from the geometric or Art Deco tone of most counter-less display faces, retaining a sense of a human hand. Basic Latin coverage and a single Regular weight keep the family minimal, positioning it squarely as a personality-led display option.
Classification
A display sans-serif with all counters removed, giving it a solid, chunky block-letter quality. The foundry classifies it as 'Sans Counter Display', placing it firmly in the display category despite its sans-serif letterform origins.
