displayArt Deco serif
Cisne specimen from Spoviero Type

An Art Deco display serif inspired by Ross F. George's Stunt Roman of 1929, offering Short and Tall optical subfamilies across five weights with a variable font spanning weight and x-height axes.

About

Cisne sets tightly packed vertical strokes against large, open circular counters, a tension that defines its character at every size. The design extends George's original Stunt Roman logic with more pronounced serifs, deeper swash exploration and subtle ligatures drawn from a large set of discretionary and stylistic alternates. Available as a variable font with weight and x-height axes, it suits editorial and branding contexts where decorative presence and structural refinement are both required.

Classification

A display serif with pronounced, decorative serifs, expressive swashes and near-perfect circular counters, drawing directly from the Art Deco lettering tradition of Ross F. George's Stunt Roman (1929). Its tension between tight vertical strokes and open circular forms, combined with extensive alternates and ligatures, places it firmly in the display category.
