Sharp Freehand is a formal calligraphic display typeface released as a Roman and Italic pair, continuing Sharp Type's series of single-weight calligraphic releases. Inspired by the pen-lettering exemplars in Oscar Ogg's "An Alphabet Source Book" (1940), it carries the fluid precision of early 20th-century hand lettering at display scale. Licensing is tied exclusively to purchase of the Sharp Type Season One specimen book, with a hard ceiling of 500 licences ever issued.
