A soft, rounded-serif old style from the interwar years, with ornamental alternates for a bit of theatre.
About
Mozart starts from the classical proportions of the Garaldes and rounds off the serifs, borrowing the softness of Old Roman Rounded and the grace of Friedlander and Weiss. Five weights with italics and a variable version, plus swashes, ornamental ascenders and decorative capitals, make it a good fit for cultural, book and packaging work.
Classification
A Garalde-based serif with rounded serifs, drawing on the interwar work of Elizabeth Friedlander and Emil R. Weiss and on Old Roman Rounded, with echoes of Peter Behrens's AEG lettering and Richard Gans's El Greco Antique. Ornamental ascenders, terminals, uppercase and punctuation sit in its stylistic sets.
