Story Tales specimen from Resistenza Type

A 1970s book-cover-inspired display family with ten stackable styles built for chromatic layering on fairy-tale, fantasy and retro editorial work.

About

Story Tales draws on 1970s book cover design, 60s psychedelia, Victorian decorative typography and post-war children's almanacks to create a whimsical display family. Its ten styles -- covering inline, slanted, ornamental and textural variants -- are designed to stack on top of one another, enabling polychromatic effects from a single purchase. The family is tightly scoped to fairy-tale, fantasy and retro-themed contexts; outside those registers it has little to offer.

Classification

Display typeface with strong 1970s book-cover character, drawing on Victorian decorative type, 60s psychedelia and post-war children's publishing. Designed as a layering system rather than a conventional weight-based family. All variants are intended to stack for chromatic effects. Slanted styles are obliques, not true italics.
