Newland specimen from Resistenza Type

A blocky all-caps display family drawing directly from Rudolf Koch's 1923 Neuland, offered in three texture-driven variants: Regular, Rough and Rounded.

About

Newland is a three-variant display family released in 2014 by Resistenza Type designers Giuseppe Salerno and Paco González. Each variant shares the same chunky, calligraphic-stroke DNA inherited from Koch's Neuland but differs in finish: Regular delivers clean, confident edges; Rough adds a weathered, handcrafted grain; Rounded softens corners into a more approachable silhouette. It suits headline, poster and logo work where bold graphic impact matters, but the narrow stylistic brief limits broader use.

Classification

Three-variant display family modelled on Rudolf Koch's 1923 Neuland. Shares the blocky, hand-carved woodcut character of the original with no weight axis. Variants differ in texture (clean, weathered, rounded) rather than weight. No italic; all-caps sensibility. Designer duo: Giuseppe Salerno and Paco González.
