MonsterHand
Resistenza Type · Giuseppe Salerno, Paco González · 2013

A ruling-pen calligraphic display typeface with dramatic stroke contrast and authentic ink texture, drawn from Giuseppe Salerno's own handwriting.
About
MonsterHand is a unicase display typeface drawn with a ruling pen — a tool more common in technical draughtsmanship than type design — giving its letterforms an unusual, highly expressive quality. Stroke contrast is extreme and ink texture is visible at display sizes, making it a strong fit for logotypes, packaging headlines and editorial pull quotes. A single Regular weight limits its versatility considerably; this is a one-trick typeface, and the trick needs to be exactly right for the brief.
Classification
Unicase ruling-pen calligraphic display typeface with extreme stroke contrast and authentic ink texture. Sits between script and display — classified as display due to its headline-only utility and dramatic visual personality rather than traditional connected script flow. The ruling pen technique produces highly expressive letterforms with handcrafted character.
