Mina specimen from Resistenza Type

A calligraphic connected script from Resistenza with long elastic strokes and a relaxed 1950s Mediterranean character, spanning nine weights plus Calligraphic, Shadow and Noodle sub-families.

About

Mina is a connected calligraphic script designed by Giuseppe Salerno and Paco González, released in 2013. It draws on Mediterranean lettering traditions, with flowing elastic connections between letters and clean thin strokes that hold up across a broad weight range from Thin to Super. With 515 glyphs and extensive OpenType features – swashes, ligatures, alternates, initial and final forms – it suits logotypes, editorial titles and boutique branding but has limited utility in body text or neutral UI work.

Classification

Connected calligraphic script with variable stroke weight and long elastic letter connections. Inspired by 1950s Mediterranean lettering tradition. Inherently slanted by nature – no separate roman/italic distinction. Multiple subfamilies extend the system into decorative and shadow territory.
