Copperlove specimen from Resistenza Type

A single-weight copperplate calligraphic script by Giuseppe Salerno, drawn with an oblique nib and sepia ink during a Berlin winter, with OpenType alternates and swashes.

About

Copperlove grew out of Giuseppe Salerno's copperplate calligraphy practice, drawn by hand with an oblique nib and sepia ink. The result is a fluid English-style script with genuine pen character rather than digitised stiffness. OpenType alternates and swashes give some expressive range, but with a single weight it is firmly a display and occasion face — invitations, logotypes, greeting cards.

Classification

Single-style copperplate calligraphic script. Drawn with an oblique nib pen and sepia ink, it evokes the formal English copperplate tradition. OpenType alternates and swashes add decorative range but the family has no weight range, no condensed cuts, and no true italic — the script angle is intrinsic to the letterforms.
