Blaq specimen from Resistenza Type

A Victorian Gothic blackletter in two styles – Regular and Rough – drawn from Henry W. Troy's Trojan Text and suited to headlines and period-styled design work.

About

Blaq is an ornamental blackletter typeface from Resistenza Type, inspired by Henry W. Troy's Trojan Text and the Gothic revival movement that spread through architecture and decorative arts from the 1740s onwards. Its two styles – Regular and Rough – share bold strokes, dramatic contrast and Victorian embellishments that suit headline work, poster design and period-influenced branding. The family is narrow in scope: two weights, no italics, and a character set covering Western European languages.

Classification

Ornamental blackletter based on Henry W. Troy's Trojan Text. Draws on the Victorian Gothic revival tradition that originated in 1740s England. Bold strokes, dramatic contrast and decorative embellishments place it firmly in the display/headline blackletter tradition rather than the liturgical Textura or chancery Fraktur streams.
