Originally published by the Nebiolo foundry around 1900 as a mixed-case alphabet, Inglesi Allungati was later reduced to uppercase only before disappearing from the Nebiolo catalogue around 1960. The design belongs to the narrow, high-contrast Bodoni tradition that emerged from the commercial printing industry's need for attention-grabbing condensed lettering. R41's revival positions it as a refined headline face suited to titles and subheadings requiring immediate visual impact.
