blackletterGothic/Textura
Gotico specimen from Reber R41

A digitalisation of a late-19th-century blackletter typeface from the historic Nebiolo foundry of Turin, including ornate capitals inspired by 15th-century manuscripts.

About

Drawn from the Nebiolo foundry's historical collection, this gothic type traces its origins through northern European script traditions, arriving in Italy via manuscript circulation and German printers. The single Regular weight includes both the core blackletter and a set of ornate initials inspired by 400s-era manuscripts, also part of the original Nebiolo offering. Suited to diplomas, visiting cards, invitations and similar contexts where an authoritative, antique character is required.

Classification

A blackletter typeface digitised from the historic Nebiolo foundry collection, originating from northern European gothic scripts adopted first in France and then as a national script style in Germany. The letterforms are characteristic of the textura tradition with strong decorative qualities.
