F Grotesk
Radim Pesko · Radim Pesko · 2011

A revival of anonymous 19th-century German grotesques, drawn with enough irregularity and conviction to stand apart from the cleaner, more calibrated genre entries.
About
F Grotesk is rooted in Breite halbfette Grotesk and Französische Grotesk, two historical sans-serifs Pesko worked into a coherent contemporary family between 2007 and 2011. Four weights with matching italics, plus tabular and proportional figures, make it genuinely functional across editorial, identity and institutional settings. The letterforms carry a lively, slightly uneven quality that reads as craft rather than accident.
Classification
Revival of Breite halbfette Grotesk and Französische Grotesk, two anonymous 19th-century German sans-serifs. Shares lineage with FF Bau but is more idiosyncratic in texture. Upright and italic across four weights with tabular and proportional figures.
