Modérnica
Quintana-Font · Javier Quintana Godoy · 2014

A Chilean humanist sans in nine weights with obliques, distinguished by a slight reversed contrast and brush-inflected terminals drawn from sign-painting traditions.
About
Originally released in 2014 and substantially updated in 2020, the typeface spans nine weights from Thin to Fat, each with a matching oblique. The reversed stress and softly curved terminals give it a warmth absent from more mechanical grotesques, while version 2.0 added expanded language support, tabular figures, smart fractions, arrows and a new Fat weight.
Classification
A sans-serif with slightly reversed stress and brush-derived curved terminals, placing it in the humanist tradition while incorporating sign-painting influences that distinguish it from purely geometric or grotesque models.
