scriptcancellaresca
Ronsard specimen from PSY/OPS Type Foundry

A Renaissance cancellaresca by Lars Bergquist, comprising a script, swash alphabet and supplementary ligatures font, modelled on 16th-century chancery italic traditions.

About

Ronsard draws on the cancellaresca hand of the Renaissance, combining a legible italic script with a swash alphabet and dedicated ligatures font sold as a three-piece package. The delicate letterforms are designed to remain readable even at demanding settings. Western and Eastern European character sets are included across all fonts.

Classification

A Renaissance-era cancellaresca (italic chancery hand) script with normal italic and swash variants, characteristic of 16th-century humanist calligraphic traditions.
