Poole specimen from PSY/OPS Type Foundry

A Late Victorian display family in six styles, pairing solid and inline (Chiselcut) cuts across three weights, designed by Wesley Poole for signage, menus and playbill-style settings.

About

The family draws on the ornamental letterpress tradition of the late nineteenth century, with the lightest Chiselcut weight offering a delicate, crystalline quality through its inline strokes, while the heavier weights lean into the robust commercial character of the era. At its heaviest, the typeface suits playbill, menu and signage contexts where period-inflected strength is required. Western and Eastern European characters, ligatures and alternates are included across all six styles.

Classification

A Late Victorian-inspired display typeface with inline (chiselcut) and solid variants, evoking the ornamental letterpress tradition of playbills and nineteenth-century commercial printing.
