On a mission to create the world’s biggest index of typefaces from the world’s best type foundries

displayconstructivist displayitalic
Motorix specimen from PSY/OPS Type Foundry

A constructivist display typeface in three weights with obliques and hundreds of variant letterforms, designed to evoke electronic rhythms and motorik energy.

About

Named after the German concept of motorik, which spans electronic music and human motor skills, this face by Monica Maccaux builds its identity through interchangeable, modular letterforms that can be combined in a multitude of ways. Three gauge weights each come with a corresponding oblique, giving six styles in total. The variant forms shift the tone from machine-precise to intermittently humanistic, lending the family unusual range for a display design.

Classification

A constructivist display face with interchangeable letterforms, variant glyphs and geometric precision that places it firmly in the display category. The modular, rhythmic structure and electronic aesthetic distinguish it from conventional sans or geometric families.
